24 Hours of Great Glen Bike Race Recap

"A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another." - John 13:34

What a memorable weekend! For the last 3 years, I have organized a Dirt Church team for a 24 hour bike race in Pinkham Notch, NH called 24 Hours of Great Glen alongside our good friends at YM360. We had an incredible weekend of racing, community, endurance, and faith!

Our team of 4 riders takes turns completing the 9.3 mile course for 24 hours straight. Each lap challenged my endurance and would typically leave me lying on the grass face up wondering why I signed up for this, but this year I learned a valuable lesson. When I crossed the finish line of each lap, I found a group of people who loved me waiting there with a high five, a hug, or simply asking the question "what can I get you?" What a blessing it was! Never once did they ask, "What took you so long?" or "Why didn't you do it this way?". They simply loved me where I was in my broken state.

How often do we simply show up for those who are in need or broken? How often am I simply asking others, "what can I get you?" We all need to have people who simply show up for us. So I'd ask you the question, "are you willing to show up for them?"

P.S. Please pray for all the counselors and campers at this year's Single Track MTB Weekend! They'll be riding at Loon and in Burke, VT seeking to take their next step with Jesus and their next step on their bikes.
