Collisions

Just about every year at this time, we see a collision of two seasons. The beautiful fall leaves get a coating of white snow as winter and fall overlap. Each and every year I wait in eager anticipation of that collision. Two Saturday’s ago, it happened! I saw snow-caked cars heading south on I-93 from the Franconia Notch, so I drove quickly up to see it myself. God began to use His creativity to remind me of another collision... another overlap. You see, as beautiful as the contrast between leaves and snow is, the contrast between broken humanity and God’s own Son was so much more beautiful and important. Heaven and earth collided in a way that has changed the lives of so many through Jesus coming to earth. In that moment, I not only remembered of Jesus coming 2,000 years ago, but I was also reminded of the great collision when Jesus came in and stole my heart. I want to encourage you today, to remember the collision. A Holy God collided with broken humans! How beautiful it is when that collision is exactly what we are welcoming!
