Finding Our Place in the Story
"All this is from God, who reconciled us to himself through Christ and gave us the ministry of reconciliation: that God was reconciling the world to himself in Christ, not counting people’s sins against them. And he has committed to us the message of reconciliation." 2 Corinthians 5:18-19
Story is everywhere. We can't seem to escape it... and why would we want to? Literature, music, art, family reunions, ball games, coffee with a friend, going on a hike...What would life be without the ability to live out and share the stories of our lives? Stories are the most powerful form of communication we have. They captivate our emotions, imaginations and intellect. They build community and have the power to impact our very soul. This isn't just a coincidence... It's by design. We were made by a great Storyteller to take part in and share the greatest story ever told. People are dying for a purpose. They are desperately looking to be a part of a story bigger than themselves. Sadly we look for bigger and better stories in all the wrong places. If you think about God's calling on the lives of Christians, it's to help others find themselves in His grand narrative and to share how he has pursued and redeemed humanity through the work of his son Jesus. How amazing is it that we get to play a part in the greatest story of all time!
