Holding Fast to What We Have

"I am coming soon. Hold on to what you have, so that no one will take your crown." - Revelation 3:11 (NIV)

In the midst of life's challenges and distractions, I am reminded by the words of Revelation 3:11 to hold fast to what we have. The promise of Christ's imminent return urges us to steady ourselves in faith and to cling to the truth and hope we possess as believers.

The world around us can often feel like a tumultuous sea, with waves of uncertainty, fear, and temptation crashing against our faith. Yet, in this verse, Jesus encourages us not to be swayed or uprooted. Instead, we are called to anchor ourselves in Him—to hold on to our faith, our convictions, and the purpose He has placed in our hearts.

As we reflect on this message, let’s consider what we hold dear: our relationship with Christ, the love of family, the community of faith, and the promises of God. Each of these is a treasured gift, and we are challenged to nurture and protect them.

In a world that often seeks to distract or lead us astray, let us take time today to reaffirm our commitment to the things of God. Spend a moment in prayer, asking for strength to persevere and for wisdom to discern what is truly valuable. As we do this, we not only secure our own hearts but also become beacons of light to others, sharing the steadfast love and grace that fill our lives.

Dear Lord, thank You for the promise that You are coming soon. Help me to hold firmly to the faith and truth I have in You. Grant me strength to resist the distractions of this world and to cherish the gifts and responsibilities You have entrusted to me. May my life reflect Your glory, and may I encourage others to hold fast as well. In Jesus' name, Amen.

What is the "crown" you are striving to protect? Reflect on how you can nurture it in your daily life.
