Holy Interruptions
“Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up. Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all people, especially to those who belong to the family of believers.” - Galatians 6:9-10
You can call me weird, but I find myself craving the dependability of an undisturbed weekly schedule. An organized schedule is a good thing. However, I can go wrong when I get so focused on my tasks and my rhythms that I fail to see and care for others around me. Sadly, I can care more about a schedule or a list of to do's than I care about the people around me. If we truly want to be used by God, we need to be willing to answer his call at a moment's notice. Oftentimes we must be willing to let our schedule's be interrupted, our tasks be put off, our "me time" infringed upon. To help with this, I’ve adopted this prayer from Francis Chan… “Lord, interrupt me from whatever I’m doing, so that I can join you in what you are doing”(Feel free to use!). It’s an amazing thing when we hold all things with an open hand lifting them up to God and he uses us for his own glory and in his perfect timing.
