The Rain Falls on Everyone
Just musing on how most of the New Testament was written from jail. There is a maligned prosperity teaching that says if things are going well, you are living in the will of God.
But, the Bible clearly states that the rain falls on the evil and the good. If you follow wisdom, then your odds in life are better- and that’s logical. The Bible is actually very logical.
What earthly benefit is it follow God? He is with you. Through highs and lows, even to the end of time. He guides.
We all wish for a solid friend who always comes through and gives great advice but forgives when we mess up... that’s Jesus.
But, we can’t hang out with him on Sunday and his enemies on Friday. Who would do that behind their friends back anyways? Says more about my character than his.
He’s already posted our bail that could never be repaid. I feel like so many mornings a prisoner randomly set free... not sure where to go next and only having a paper bag worth of earthly things... but a overwhelming sense of gratitude.
I do not deserve this sunrise on my face, I don’t deserve this new blameless day. But I am so grateful.
Praise Him.
