Happy Thanksgiving!
Whether you come into this Thanksgiving from a place of blessing or burden, famine or feast, I pray that you’re able to pause and give thanks to our Creator, Sustainer, and Redeemer, Christ Jesus for all that he has done and continues to do.
Peace on Earth, Goodwill to Men?
And yet, in the midst of a year filled with much hate, division, tragedy and death – the hope, peace, joy and love of Christ are so apparent and real to me. The name Immanuel means "God with us." Psalm 23 says: "even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are WITH me." This is why God sent His son Jesus to earth – so that even in our darkest days, we would truly know and experience the hope, peace, joy and love of Immanuel, God with us.
Rejoicing in His Sufficiency
For those of us who follow Christ, our lack of ability to perform should also lead us to awe. Not because we change colors, but rather because that reminds us of how great a Savior we have! Our insufficiencies are made enough by His sufficiency. Our failures, able to be redeemed by His great mercy and grace. Our sins, removed as far as the east is from the west by His blood shed.
