Church in the Way of People

Psalms 121:1-2 ESV “I lift up my eyes to the hills. From where does my help come? My help comes from the Lord, who made heaven and earth.”

We love the unique way God has called and enabled this ministry to serve in the mountains we call home. Because of our distinctive mission field, we have the privilege of bringing the Gospel directly to people—right where they are—through the shared context and passion of both our church and our community. Shared experiences build relationships, and relationships are often the very means God uses to draw people to Himself and bring the gospel into their lives. We view community as “common unity”: the joys and passions our good Father has gifted us to share and celebrate together.

Our vision is simple—to put the church in people’s path and proclaim that God is real and that He loves them. God has allowed us to live this out in two primary ways: through our coffee shop and our outdoor worship services at multiple ski mountains across New England (more info here). Our coffee shop, located in the heart of the community, invites both locals and tourists to witness worship in action. This unique blend of marketplace and ministry welcomes people in a familiar and comforting setting, creating what we call a “brackish” space—where unbelievers encounter believers and are drawn to the truth of the Gospel through our living witness.

Likewise, our outdoor service on Loon Mountain provides an experiential encounter with God in the beauty of His creation. Nature itself testifies to the Creator, as Romans 1:20 reminds us: “For his invisible attributes, namely, his eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly perceived, ever since the creation of the world, in the things that have been made.” Through Scripture and worship, we help people see how the majesty around them points to the God who made it all.

This mission is not without its challenges. The transient nature of our community means we must be intentional about discipling those who come to faith. As a congregation, we are called to seek out opportunities to mentor, encourage, and walk alongside those God brings into our lives. Whether you live, work or play in the mountains we would love to have you join us in Loving God, Serving Community and Enjoying Mountains.

We are deeply grateful for the unique opportunities God has entrusted to us, and for our members of the body of Christ—the one true Church—on whom we rely to support and sustain this ministry in the mountains.
