Worship Through Fellowship

This Wednesday through Friday is one of my favorite events of the entire year… Loon Mountain Ministry’s annual church retreat. If I had only one word to describe why I love this time so much, it would be “fellowship”. Genuine christian fellowship has become less of a priority in many circles, especially in the age of “virtual church”. This hasn't always been the case. In Acts 2:42 it says that the church was devoted to the apostles teaching, to fellowship, to eating with one another and to prayer. Believe it or not, the fellowship of believers was kind of a big deal to the early church and I believe it's a big deal to God. God desires his people to regularly come together in relationship, companionship, gratitude, worship and mutual encouragement in Christ. This can and should happen in all kinds of settings and at all different times throughout our week, month and year. The retreat at Camp Berea of Maine serves as an annual exclamation point for what we intentionally make an ongoing practice in our lives. If you haven’t made up your mind about going to the retreat this week, it's not too late! Reach out if you still want to come!
