Pray Continually

Recently, God has been reminding me in so many ways of the necessity of consistent and continual prayer.  Sadly I am guilty of allowing prayer to be a second, third or last resort!  John Calvin called prayer "the chief exercise of faith".  Faithfulness in prayer demonstrates a belief that on our own we are powerless but that God is able and willing.  The absence of prayer demonstrates a belief that we're just fine on our own.

Letting Go of Resentment

Resentment leads you to self-destructive choices, causing you to suffer far more than those you resent. It breeds misery and rarely brings about the resolution you seek. So why cling to resentment any longer? Let go today. Choose forgiveness, and embrace the freedom that comes with it. Release the burden of grudges and experience the peace that forgiveness can bring into your life.

Walking in Prayer

When words fail, movement describes our hearts. Grief can weigh heavy or joy can overflow, making stillness impossible. Dancing or walking can transform into unspoken prayer. Our bodies convey our emotions, even when raw.

Miracles Happen When We Pray

Jesus promised that when we gather in His name, He is present with us. This is not just a comforting thought; it’s a powerful truth. Prayer in unity invites God’s presence, allowing us to witness the miraculous power of His love and grace…

His Leaf Does Not Wither

I strive to treat the Bible with the same amount of ease and enthusiasm as my garden, maintaining my soul daily to avoid rot, damage, and pests. I don't often succeed at this, because it takes more effort for me to crack open the Word and take a good look at myself than it does to fix plants. But I know the results will be priceless.

He Sees a Way

It blows my mind that God is infinitely more generous and creative than this. I often don't pray for my dreams and desires, thinking God will discard them as pointless or unnecessary. However, Ephesians 3:20 says that God can do "immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine." He knows how time, space, my finances, my family, and the world all fit together together like complex machinery, while I have no such perspective. Don't be afraid to ask God for your dream, the deepest desire of your heart. He may see a way where you see a wall.

We Forgot to Pray

Regularly taking a moment to pause, praise and give thanks may seem insignificant, but I am convinced that our habits are constantly forming us into the people we are becoming. If you're like me and you tend to get caught up in the busyness of the day, take a moment now and ask God to grow in you a heart of constant gratitude! He hears your prayers and desires to help you!

Arrow Prayers

We see it in Jesus' life too, momentarily breaking for prayer. But that could be a whole another post so we won't get into that today. Whether it be in a moment of confusion and breaking for a moment to ask for wisdom, a moment of frustration and breaking for a moment to ask for patience, whatever it may be - let us break and send up arrow prayers. We need Thee every moment Lord! May our prayer lives be a reflection of that.

Sovereign Grace

Brothers and sisters don't give up praying for your unbelieving friends and family. There are no traits that disqualify someone from grace. God’s sovereign grace can step in at any point in a person's life and draw them to himself! It’s not our job to estimate the probabilities of where grace should succeed. We serve a sovereign God who knows all things and there will never be a day where he is uncertain of the ones he has called to salvation.
